TIMP-TUNER™ FOR BALANCING THE HEAD

ABOUT THIS DEMONSTRATION: Here Timp-Tuner™ shows that the note sounded registers flat (strobe bars moving down) when the drum is struck near one lug position and somewhat sharp (bars moving up) when struck near another lug. This is the underlying effect that allows the Timp-Tuner™ to be used for head balancing (getting the head "in tune with itself"). The Timp-Tuner™ does not have to be moved around the head to do this. (The complete head balancing procedure is will be described in detail in the new "Timpani Tips" section of this site, scheduled to be added in April 2005.)
